Built for a dry, compromised skin barrier.
The Deep Hydration Whip from True Origin Skincare is a whipped tallow moisturizer for very dry, eczema-prone and compromised skin. Regeneratively raised beef tallow has a fatty acid profile close to human sebum, so your barrier gets sealed by something your skin recognizes.
The repair work belongs to the oils, so we run effective doses of castor, meadowfoam and squalane behind it. We are recommended by integrative and functional doctors and carried in holistic medical clinics.
A lot of people with eczema find it helps with the dryness, tightness and the look of redness, and that is real. It will not cure it. There are no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance and no synthetic preservatives, the three ingredient categories most often flagged for sensitive skin.
It is a concentrated balm, so a pea covers your face, and the same jar works as your face cream, body butter, hand cream and lip balm.
Suet-based tallow
For the person who wants non-toxic skincare that does its job, and especially the person with reactive skin.
Eczema-prone and very dry skin
An occlusive layer of barrier-similar lipids that seals moisture into barrier-damaged skin. It helps with the tightness. It does not cure eczema.
Sensitive and reactive skin
No essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no actives. Barrier-similar lipids your skin recognizes.
Pregnancy and postpartum
Made without essential oils, retinoids, and ingredients commonly flagged during pregnancy.
What customers say.
The only tallow lotion my girlfriend will use. Everything else smelled too beefy or had a slimy texture. This one smells amazing and rubs on smooth with no slime. 10/10.
Drew
I genuinely didn't think I liked tallow until I discovered this. It literally melts into your skin. No residue, not greasy or heavy. Simply the best tallow product I've found on the market.
Alex
During pregnancy my skin has been extra sensitive, dry, and reactive, so I've been extremely careful about what I use, and this product has been an absolute dream.

-
01
The Hydration Trinity
Castor draws moisture in, meadowfoam prevents water loss and stabilizes the formula, and squalane absorbs quickly to support barrier recovery.
-
02
Rosehip and sea buckthorn
Cold-pressed rosehip carries vitamin A in its natural carotenoid form. Sea buckthorn adds omega-7 and carotenoids that tallow alone does not supply.
-
03
Whole botanical infusions
Rose, vanilla, and marshmallow root slow-infused into the lipid base, replacing essential oils with a gentle scent that does not oxidize.
What is in this tallow moisturizer, and why.
The base
- Regeneratively raised beef tallow
- The base, infused whole with organic rose petals, vanilla bean, and marshmallow root. A fatty acid profile close to human sebum, so skin recognizes and absorbs it.
- Organic beeswax
- Gentle structure and soft hold without heaviness.
The oils
- Organic cold-pressed castor oil
- A humectant that draws moisture into the skin and gives a soft, cushiony feel.
- Organic olive squalane
- Lightweight and fast-absorbing. Supports barrier recovery without greasiness.
- Organic cold-pressed jojoba oil
- A wax ester that mimics skin's own sebum for balance and glide.
- Organic meadowfoam seed oil
- Slows water loss and improves the stability of the formula.
- Organic rosehip oil
- Carries vitamin A in its natural carotenoid form to support tone and renewal.
- Organic sea buckthorn oil
- Adds omega-7 and carotenoids, supporting elasticity and a calm look.
Structure and finish
- Vitamin E (non-GMO)
- An antioxidant that protects both the skin and the oils in the formula.
- Organic arrowroot powder
- Gives the whip a softer, drier finish on the skin.
- Rose floral wax
- A whole botanical that gives a soft natural scent.
- Organic rosemary extract
- Keeps the oils fresh and stable without synthetic preservatives.

How to use Deep Hydration Whip
- 1
Warm a pea-sized amount
Rub a pea-sized amount between clean fingers until it softens and turns to oil.
- 2
Press into damp skin
Press gently into clean, slightly damp skin after cleansing or bathing. Damp skin helps it spread and absorb.
- 3
Morning and night
Use morning and night, or as needed, on face, neck, body, hands, cuticles, and lips.
- 4
Layer last
Apply water-based serums or actives first, then this as the final step. Allow about a minute before makeup or sunscreen.
The list is the point.
- No essential oils or synthetic fragrance
- No emulsifiers or synthetic preservatives
- No retinoids, parabens, phthalates, or sulfates
- No mineral oil or petroleum derivatives
- No honey, olive, or avocado filler oils
Two of those choices have numbers behind them. In a German patch-test dataset of 10,930 patients, 8.3% reacted to at least one essential oil (Geier et al., Contact Dermatitis, 2022). Four weeks of topical olive oil reduced skin barrier integrity in a randomized trial of 19 adults (Danby et al., Pediatric Dermatology, 2013).
Frequently asked questions
Is tallow good for the face?
Yes. Tallow's fatty acid profile is close to human sebum, the oil your skin already makes, so it supports the skin barrier and absorbs well without the reactions many synthetic ingredients cause.
Will Deep Hydration Whip clog my pores?
Tallow sits low on the comedogenic scale, and we formulate without the heavy filler oils (coconut, olive, avocado) that commonly cause congestion. Most people, including acne-prone skin, use it without clogging, though every skin is different.
Does it contain essential oils?
No. Every True Origin product contains zero essential oils. The faint scent comes from whole botanicals (rose, vanilla, marshmallow root) slow-infused into the lipid base.
Is it formulated for pregnancy and postpartum?
It is made without essential oils, retinoids, synthetic preservatives, and ingredients commonly flagged during pregnancy. Many customers use it through pregnancy and postpartum.
What does it smell like?
Faint and warm. We render from suet, the hard fat from around the kidneys, which comes out close to odorless, then infuse whole rose petals, vanilla pods and marshmallow root over days. No essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, so the scent fades soon after it melts in.
How long does one jar last?
A 4 oz jar lasts most face-only users three to four months. Using it head to toe will use it faster.
Can I use it with retinol or vitamin C?
Yes. Apply your water-based serum or active first, then Deep Hydration Whip as the final occlusive layer to seal everything in.
How much should I use?
A little goes a long way. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingers and press it in. Because it is a concentrated balm, a small amount covers the face, and slightly more works head to toe.
How does the guarantee work?
Thirty days, love it or your money back. Two weeks is what a barrier takes to rebuild, so that is what it takes to know. If it is not right for your skin, email us and we will refund you in full. You don't need to send anything back.
Can I use whipped tallow as a face cream?
Yes. That is how most people use it. Warm a pea-sized amount, press it into damp skin morning and night, and the same jar covers the body, hands, and lips too. Give it two weeks before you judge it.
